According to the letter, it is necessary to adopt emergency and strategic measures to guarantee efficiency and safety in the migration assistance provided by the Federal Police on the borders between Acre and Peru, given that thousands of Brazilians will reach the neighboring country by land using the state as a route.
“Due to the final of the Copa Libertadores da América, to be held in the city of Lima, Peru, it is estimated that between the 25th and 1st of December 2025 there will be a significant increase in the flow of passengers using international land routes, especially in the municipalities of Assis Brasil and Epitaciolândia. This scenario involves not only private vehicles, but also buses and excursion vans, many of which tend to cross at night, a time when migration services become even more difficult. more sensitive and demands a greater operational structure”, says an excerpt from the letter.
Given the high flow of passengers who will use Acre as a route to reach Peru, Congressman Gonzaga requested immediate reinforcement of police personnel at border units, ensuring greater service and inspection capacity throughout the peak migration period.
The parliamentarian also asked for an exceptional extension of opening hours, especially at the Assis Brasil and Epitaciolândia units, which receive a considerable volume of passengers and need to operate continuously to avoid accumulation, slowness and safety risks.
Gonzaga also requested the implementation of extended shifts or additional teams for the night period, ensuring fluidity in procedures for entering and leaving the country and reducing border congestion.
Finally, the deputy called for the adoption of preventive security and organizational actions to guarantee protection for travelers, employees and local residents, avoiding risk or disorder situations resulting from the large movement.
“I reinforce that the expansion of service at the Epitaciolândia unit is essential, as it is one of the main access corridors to the neighboring country, and tends to concentrate a significant part of the flow resulting from fan caravans. The reinforced presence of the Federal Police will contribute decisively to the order, security and documentary regularity of travelers”, he concluded.
