“I think it’s unacceptable.” Joana Latino criticizes Cristiano Ronaldo after his attitude on the field

Cristiano Ronaldo was expelled from Portugal’s game against Ireland, last Thursday, November 13th, and was not present in this Sunday’s game (16th), in which the National Team ended up qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The expulsion due to aggressive behavior on the part of CR7 was a topic on the program ‘Red Carpet’ and Joana Latino once again regretted the untimely attitude taken by the Portuguese player, who even simulated a crying gesture after his opponent’s complaints on the ground.

“I think that with great power comes great responsibility and Cristiano often likes the side of power, he doesn’t like the side of responsibility. I’m not pointing out a character defect, it’s possibly a lack of inner work, a lack of reflection on these issues”he began by saying.

The commentator then highlighted that “it is time” for Cristiano Ronaldo to work more on his emotional side, as he is an example, especially for children and young people: “(…) From an emotional point of view there is a monumental lack of work here and I think it is unacceptable for a hero for several generations, especially for younger ones, to have an attitude like this when we are all defending FairPlay, talking about the importance of ‘more than knowing how to win, knowing how to lose’ (…)”these.

Joana Latino finally regretted some of the comments she heard and read regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s attitude, highlighting her point of view: “He was sent off, no matter what minute, because he had a highly reprehensible, unsportsmanlike attitude that cannot be excused. And he is excused by a large majority”.
