Inmet issues orange alert for 10 Brazilian states

Agency warns of tree felling and interruptions in electricity supply; warnings include strong winds and hail

The (National Institute of Meteorology) issued an orange storm warning for 10 states in the Central-West, Southeast and South regions. Classified as “danger”the warning remains valid until 10am on Tuesday (18.Nov.2025).

Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Paraná, and Rio de Janeiro are fully included in the alert. The warning also covers parts of Mato Grosso, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, southern Espírito Santo and the extreme east of Rondônia. According to the institute, storms can cause flooding, hail, felled trees and interruptions in the electricity supply.

Inmet reports that the instabilities will form a storm corridor that extends from the Center-West to the Southeast and reaches areas of the South region. The storm that hit part of Rio Grande do Sul at the weekend left damage and damage in at least 31 municipalities.
