The wake of singer and composer Jards Anet da Silva, known as Jards Macalé, 82 years oldhappens in the morning this Tuesday (18) at the Gustavo Capanema Palace, in the Sidney Muller Room, in Rio de Janeiro.
The ceremony will begin at 10am and end at 3pm. Afterwards, the body will proceed to the São João Batista Cemeteryin the south of the capital, where the burial will take place at 4pm.

Jards was born in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, and became known for his. He is the author of great hits such as ”Movimento dos Barcos”, ”Vapor Barato”, ”Anjo Exterminado” and “Mal Secreto”.
Macalé had a cardiac arrest after undergoing surgery.

He always defended the appreciation of culture and transformed his talent and his art into a constant fight against authoritarianism.” says in part of the note.
Big names in music like Caetano Veloso, Frejat, Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia and Gilberto Gil also paid tribute the musician through statements on the internet.
