João Gomes’ football has been attracting the attention of a giant in Europe. Currently at Wolverhampton, the midfielder would have been targeted by Manchester United, according to information from the Portuguese newspaper Record.
The Portuguese newspaper states that to take João Gomes from Wolves, however, the Red Devils would have to pay an amount of around 50 million euros (R$307.9 million at current prices).
If the negotiation proves complicated, United would be monitoring other athletes for the position. Among them, Carlos Baleba, from Brighton, and Elliot Anderson, from Nottingham Forest.

How much would Flamengo take in a João Gomes negotiation with United?
As a training club, Flamengo is entitled to 10% of the value of a future negotiation involving João Gomes and Wolverhampton.
If a sale worth 50 million euros is completed, Rubro-Negro would be left with five million euros, around R$30.8 million.
Furthermore, Flamengo would be entitled to an additional 5% of the negotiation due to FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, reaching R$15.4 million. In other words, in total, if João Gomes is sold, the Rio club would earn around R$46.2 million.
