Ticket sales for the 2026 São Paulo Formula 1 GP opened to the general public this Monday (11/17), at 12pm (Brasília time). However, within a few minutes, all the cargo available on the Eventim website had already been exhausted, regardless of sectors and prices.
After many complaints on social media, federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) published a request for an investigation into Eventim’s conduct in selling tickets for the event.
Despite being the opening of general ticket sales for the São Paulo GP, it is the third phase of sales for the F1 stage in Brazil in 2026. The previous two stages were made exclusively for Porto Bank and, later, Amex customers — the available tickets were also sold out in a matter of hours.
– After numerous complaints and reports received under my mandate, I am requesting that the National Consumer Secretariat investigate the sale of tickets for the São Paulo GP. Once again, Eventim brought chaos and confusion wherever it went. This time, the target was Formula 1 – he stated.
– It is not normal for ALL tickets for an event that receives, annually, an audience of around 300 thousand people, to be sold out 7 MINUTES after the start of sales, according to press reports – he added.
The deputy requests that the possibilities be investigated that part of the tickets have been reserved for scalpers, for digital resale platforms or for sale in future more expensive “extraordinary” lots.
– I am also requesting that Eventim be questioned about what methods are used to protect its platform from automated shopping bots and how the procedures for confirming the identity of buyers are carried out – he declared.
Formula 1 returns this weekend, from November 20th to 23rd, with the Las Vegas GP, the 22nd stage of the 2025 season.
