The Ukrainian manufacturer of the famous Flamingo cruise ships, which is also under investigation in the context of the scandal that has caused an earthquake in , has announced the appointment of the former US Secretary of State to its newly formed advisory board.
The company wants alignment with international standards
According to the relevant announcement from Fire Point, whose FP-1 drones, as well as its Flamingo missiles, have played a significant role in improving Ukraine’s capabilities to strike targets deep inside Russia, announced that “Secretary Pompeo’s strategic knowledge and deep understanding of global affairs will be invaluable as we continue to develop and strengthen our governance practices.” According to the company, the aim of this placement is to “align its governance framework with the leading international standards”.
In the crosshairs of NABU
It is noted that this announcement comes just a few days after the investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) revealed that NABU controlled the links between the company and the former associate of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, Timur Midykh. According to reports, NABU investigators had concluded that Fire Point’s drones were overcharged.
The factory in Denmark and European support
In the meantime, the placement of Pompeo – the US Secretary of State from 2018 to 2021 – comes at a time when Fire Point plans to build a rocket fuel plant in Denmark in the coming months, but also in view of the increase in funding and equipment for Ukraine from Europe, for which both the European institutions and the governments of the member countries of the Union have committed.
