In different parts of the world, images continue to emerge of unexpected encounters between drivers and wild animals on the road, often captured by those who come across these unusual moments. A video recorded in Brazil shows an anaconda more than five meters long crossing a busy road, in a moment that left drivers on alert and quickly went viral on social media.
The images were recorded on the Marechal Rondon road (SP-300), between Araçatuba and Guararapes, in the state of São Paulo. The huge anaconda was spotted by several residents over the weekend, along the banks of the road.
Faced with an animal of such size, it would be expected that drivers would move away or try to follow the path. However, the opposite happened: fearing that the anaconda would be run over, several drivers stopped their vehicles and collaborated to remove it from the road, allowing it to return safely to its habitat, according to the automobile specialist portal El Motor.
A behavior that once again sparked debate
Similar situations are common in several regions of Brazil, where the presence of large animals on the roads continues to surprise those who are not used to this direct contact with nature. The video once again raised the discussion about the importance of acting calmly in these cases and avoiding accidents.
In another part of the world, a different but equally impressive episode was recorded in Malaysia. A driver was surprised by a python that suddenly appeared on the hood of his car while he was traveling in Kuala Lumpur.
A python on the hood while traveling
According to the local press, the snake slowly slithered up to the windshield, passed to the roof and returned to the front, then crossed the entire surface of the glass and approached the side mirrors. All this happened while the car was moving, forcing the driver to pull over to the side of the road.
Inside the vehicle was a woman who advised the driver to drive more slowly so as not to hurt the animal. The incident ended with no injuries, and the python was rescued by firefighters, according to the same source.
When the danger comes from inside the car
Although incidents involving snakes are rare, finding insects inside a car is much more likely. Even a small spider or fly can cause a scare that can distract the driver and increase the risk of an accident.
Staying calm is not always easy, but it is recommended that, after the initial scare, the driver tries to stop the car as soon as possible. With the vehicle immobilized, the likelihood of causing an accident is reduced and it is easier to resolve the situation without danger.
Opening the windows can help
If it is not possible to stop, for example on a motorway, the best option is to open the windows. The air current created helps to ward off the insect or push it out of the passenger compartment. Even if this doesn’t happen immediately, the animal will most likely end up leaving after a few minutes.
Air conditioning can also be useful in these types of situations. Setting the system to the lowest temperature and maximum ventilation creates an uncomfortable environment for the insect, increasing the likelihood of it abandoning the car.
