Brazilian doubles champion Aruba Open 2025, Gustavo Russo won, alongside the French Matthew Gueganothe most traditional and prestigious tournament in beach tennis in the world. Russo and Guegano beat the pair formed by Marcelo Reck from Paraná and Victor Gonzaga from Minas Gerais in the decision, with a double 6/3. Before that, in the semi-final, they had achieved a great upset over the Brazilians Allan Oliveira and Fabrício Neis: 1/6, 6/2 and 12/10.

Gustavo Russo, who trains in Indaiatuba (SP) and has the support of Fobel, Vitafor and DMC, in addition to being part of the Juca BT team in partnership with Beach Sports Assessoria, confirmed the great moment in the season.

– I had never played on center court here. It’s the most emblematic tournament in beach tennis, and playing in a final in such a turbulent year has a special flavor for me. Every decision is a story. I mentioned to Mathieu before the match that there is no point in predicting too much: we draw up a strategy, but only on the court do we feel the pressure and the atmosphere. We managed to grow throughout the tournament and, thank God, we won the title – celebrated Russo, who won his ninth career trophy and the second of the season – he had also won the Sand Series in Gran Canaria, Spain.

With the result, the Brazilian rose three positions in the world rankings and took 13th place, approaching 11th place, his best record to date.
