Itaú, Bradesco, Santander, BTG Pactual and Banco do Brasil account for almost 1/3 of the gains of the giants of the Brazilian Stock Exchange
Large Brazilian banks once again easily led the list of the most profitable companies on B3, the Brazilian Stock Exchange, according to a survey by Elos Ayta.
Itaú Unibanco remains the bank with the best performance: profit of R$11.6 billion in the 3rd quarter of 2025. The value represents growth of 13.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
BTG Pactual was the highlight in percentage growth, with a profit of R$4.3 billion in the 3rd quarter of this year, an increase of 41.3% compared to the same period in 2024.
Banco do Brasil saw its profit shrink 66% in the period. The result was R$3.03 billion, compared to R$8.92 billion in the previous year. It was the only drop among the 5 largest listed on the Stock Exchange.
According to Elos Ayta, 20 companies had net profits exceeding R$1 billion in the 3rd quarter of 2025, and the financial sector continues to be the main driver of this group.
Together, Itaú Unibanco, Bradesco, Santander Brasil, BTG Pactual and Banco do Brasil accounted for around 31% of all consolidated profits of the billion-dollar companies on the Stock Exchange.
In addition to the banks, the group of billionaires includes names such as Petrobras, Vale, Ambev, TIM, Telefônica, Rede D’Or, Sabesp, Suzano, Gerdau, B3 and Weg.
Among the 20 companies analyzed:
- 15 increased profit;
- 5 recorded a drop.
The majority increase shows that, even with pressured margins and high costs, large companies continue to concentrate on generating market results.
Biggest increases in the 3rd quarter of 2025:
- Motivates (191,9%);
- TIM (50,1%);
- BTG Pactual (41,4%);
- Ambev (37,1%);
- Rede D’Or (28,6%).
Negative highlights:
- Bank of Brazil (-66,0%);
- Sabesp (-64,7%);
- Suzano (-39,4%);
- Garden (-19,9%).
