The GNR dismantled a group of young people, most of whom still lived at home with their parents, who were involved in drug trafficking in Olhão. During the searches, weapons, almost 40 thousand euros in cash, and several drugs were seized, including pink cocaine and white hashish.

O youngest member is 18 years oldbut the majority He doesn’t have his own house yet. Five men and one woman were detained, five of these six still lived with their parents.
The 11 home searches and two vehicle searches detected 37 thousand euros in cash, several weapons and some of the fashionable drugs which they sold in the municipality and surrounding areas as cannabis and nitrous oxide.
The latter is white hashish and was first detected in France in September. Almost 500 doses of the cocktail of dangerous substances known as pink cocaine were also seized.
“Pink cocaine has a synthetic treatment with mixtures of other substances and white hashish also has a higher degree of purity. It is normally destined for a higher social stratum, given its price”, explains captain António Ramos of the GNR of Faro.
The investigation, which lasted eight months, I was trying to understand the extent of a group that was becoming violent. António Ramos reports of “episodes of gratuitous violence against vulnerable people”, namely people experiencing homelessness, and also the “use of a firearm with shots in the air”.
“Although there are young elements in the process, adults, but young, these already have a history and criminal record that gives them experience in this practice“, he realizes.
A GNR believes it has dismantled the groupbut admits that it may come to make more arrests. One of the suspects is on the run and the investigation has even more leads to follow.
