Helena Pires was appointed, this Tuesday, as executive director of in a decision approved unanimously at the organization’s management meeting, in Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras.
“The appointment of Helena Pires is a natural step, after having played, with enormous dedication and competence, this role in the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP). It is a well thought out and programmed step, which is in line with the governance model that we had always idealized for the FPF”, explained the president of the FPF, Pedro Proença, in statements reproduced by the organization.
Helena Pires has been linked to the sport for more than two and a half decades and was executive director of the LPFP, whose interim presidency she assumed in February, following the election of Pedro Proença as Fernando Gomes’ successor at the head of the FPF.
“Having Helena Pires as executive director is a guarantee of the professionalism and competence that we intend to implement and I am sure that her knowledge of Portuguese football and her unquestionable dedication will be decisive in raising the FPF to the standards required of us for the future”, stressed the federative leader.
