Chivite says that the UCO report “in no way indicates” the Government of Navarra
The president of the Government of Navarra, María Chivite, stated this Wednesday that the latest report from the UCO of the Civil Guard on the caso Cerdán “in no way does he point out the Government of Navarra for illegalities, crimes or corruption”, and has offered “full collaboration if the judge considers investigating the Belate tunnels”, one of the works in which the corrupt plot was allegedly involved.
Chivite, who is in China this week on an official trip, has spoken in this way in statements to Navarra Television after learning of the new UCO report on Tuesday, which states that, if the judge so deems, Belate’s work “could be incorporated into the set of awards under investigation in this special case.”
The head of the regional Executive has highlighted that “it seems that in this UCO report regarding the Belate tunnels no details are revealed that have not been known until now regarding the individual votes – of the legal part of the contracting table -, etc., but in any case the Government in the first person was the one that commissioned both internal and external audits in an exercise of transparency.”
Furthermore, he highlighted that the regional Executive “is collaborating with the investigation commission opened in Parliament and of course, full collaboration if the judge considers investigating the Belate tunnels, also saying and with the certainty that there has been no corruption on the part of any counselor or of course the president of the Government of Navarra in the awarding of this public work.” (EP)
