The National Police has arrested in Castellón de la Plana a fugitive included in the list of the ten most wanted in Canada and wanted by the Canadian authorities for crimes of fraud, identity theft and trafficking of personal information, for which he faces a sentence of 14 years in prison.
According to police sources, the now detained person purchased, between January 2017 and September 2020, data lists of members and clients of a financial services company and carried out several fraud schemes, causing a loss of close to two million Canadian dollars.
The investigation began at the beginning of this year, when the agents learned that the fugitive, who had an international arrest warrant in force, could be in Spain. Thanks to the exchange of information from the National FAST Network, the National Police was able to focus the search on the area where the investigated person resided and on November 6, after several checks, he was arrested when he was in a bar in Castellón.
