Operation arrests 15 suspects linked to trafficking scheme in RS

The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul arrested 15 suspects of drug trafficking and trafficking association, during Operation Jardim de Rosas 2, held on Tuesday (18).

In total, 60 civil police officers participated in the action, which also carried out 17 preventive arrest warrants, 16 search and seizure warrants, in addition to the seizure of motorcycles.

The investigation showed that a criminal, inside the Santa Maria State Penitentiary, led a drug trafficking scheme in Rosário do Sul. Precautionary measures were carried out in Rosário do Sul, Santa Maria, São Gabriel and Júlio de Castilhos.

Some of the members, according to the Civil Police, were looking for drugs in the cities of Alegrete, São Gabriel and Santa Maria.

The operation had the support of the Police Station, DRACO and Regional Police Station of Santana do Livramento, São Gabriel Police Station, DRACO of Santa Maria and Júlio de Castilhos and Tupanciretã Police Stations.

Several suspects responsible for operating in illegal trade were identified. The Criminal Police provided support in executing search and seizure warrants in prisons in Santa Maria, São Gabriel and Bagé.
