Polish security services detained suspects for sabotage on the railway. The explosion of the bomb in the Masovian Voivodeship and the damaged track are the subject of an investigation.
Polish security forces announced on Wednesday that they had arrested the first suspects of involvement in acts of sabotage on the railway. A spokesman for the Minister for the Coordinator of Special Services, Jacek Dobrzynski, said that the suspects were detained by the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and police and investigators secured a lot of evidence. This is reported by the Warsaw correspondent TASR with reference to the PAP agency.
Dobrzynski emphasized that the Polish security services already have significantly more information and are on the trail of those who ordered and carried out the attacks. “I can confirm that the first arrests are being made. Those involved are being held by ABW and the police. At this stage I cannot give any more details,” he said. He added that the actions are continuing and the case has a dynamic nature.
The spokesman specified that several people are detained in connection with the case. “These persons are currently being interrogated and the role of each person in this terrorist attack is being determined,” he said, adding that the security forces are looking for other suspects. All of them were detained on the territory of Poland.
Two acts of diversion on the track took place between November 15 and 17. In the village of Mika in the Masovian Voivodeship, an explosive device destroyed a railway track. In the second incident, the train with 475 passengers had to brake suddenly due to a damaged track.
