The meeting took place on Tuesday afternoon
It was perhaps one of the most unexpected moments in recent years. Donald Trump and Cristiano Ronaldo, two leaders in different areas, were together this Tuesday afternoon at the White House. Although the meeting took place around 24 hours ago, images of the moment were only revealed this Wednesday, on the official account of the US president’s residence.
Almost always smiling and visibly complicit, CR7 and Trump were accompanied by Georgina Rodríguez, who was also present in one of the most emblematic spaces in the world: the Oval Room.
Hours after the private meeting, Ronaldo was present at a dinner/gala, where the country’s vice president, JD Vance, the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and the billionaire and former member of the Trump administration, Elon Musk, were also present. From the world of sport, Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, was also at the White House.
“This room is full of the world’s greatest leaders, from business and sport,” said Trump in his opening speech at the dinner, before offering glowing praise to the captain of the national team. “My son is a big fan of Ronaldo (…). Barron [filho de Trump] He met him and I think he now respects his father a little more, just because he introduced him”, he said amidst laughter and loud applause.
The official White House Instagram account also released a video this Wednesday of the meeting between Donald Trump and Cristiano Ronaldo, where the caption reads “Two GOATS. CR7 x 45/47”.
