Russian attacks in the west of Ukraine have again activated Polish and allied fighters

Poland responded to threats from Ukraine by increasing the defense of its airspace. Fighters, radar surveillance and air defense were activated.

On Wednesday, Polish and allied military aircraft took off again in response to Russian attacks in western Ukraine in order to ensure the safety of Polish airspace. This was announced on social networks by the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces, TASR writes, according to a Reuters report.

“In accordance with applicable procedures, the operational command of the armed forces activated the necessary forces and resources at its disposal. Available pairs of fighters and early warning aircraft were dispatched. Ground air defense and radar surveillance systems were placed on the highest alert,” wrote the X operational command on the social network.

Preventive measures

“These measures are preventive in nature and aim to secure and protect the airspace, especially in regions adjacent to threatened areas. The Armed Forces Operational Command is monitoring the current situation and the forces and resources under its command remain ready for an immediate response,” it added.

The Reuters agency reports that around 05:00 a.m. a state of emergency was declared in almost the entire territory of Ukraine due to the danger of Russian missile and drone attacks.
