Add a few to your morning coffee. You will boost your metabolism and feel a surge of energy

Do you start your day with coffee? Add spices and ginger to it. It won’t take much time and you will feel the effect immediately. This is a great solution, especially in the fall and winter. The drink will not only warm you up, but also give you energy and strengthen your immunity.

Coffee itself is a morning boost. Caffeine activates the nervous system, improves concentration and adds energy. However, since ancient times, this drink has been enriched with spices. In the Middle East it was cardamom, in South America it was cocoa. Such a drink was supposed to stimulate the body and mind to act more effectively.

If you enrich your coffee with ginger and cloves, you will gain natural warmth that will spread throughout your body. Ginger has a slightly spicy effect and stimulates digestion. In addition to its spicy flavor, cloves will also add antibacterial properties to your coffee. Cloves, thanks to their intense aroma, introduce a note of spicy warmth and antibacterial properties. Thanks to this, coffee is no longer just a stimulating drink. It will also become a way to stimulate metabolism and support the immune system. Spicy spices, known, among others, from traditional Ayurvedic blends, will help maintain body heat and support natural regeneration processes.

The combination of cloves and ginger with coffee came to us from Asia. The inhabitants of these regions love to add spicier spices to their dishes and drinks. Cloves are small but powerful spices because they have antibacterial properties. They are due to eugenol, which also has anti-inflammatory properties and supports digestion. The spicy aroma of cloves goes perfectly with coffee, which has a slightly gingerbread flavor.

Ginger, in turn, is a root with a long tradition in natural medicine. It contains gingerols and other bioactive substances that accelerate metabolism. They also support circulation and have anti-inflammatory properties. Cloves and ginger combined with coffee provide a double dose of taste and immunity. Spices will enhance the energy effect and the body will start its metabolic rhythm faster.

Even though you may think you don’t have time for such morning celebrations, don’t be discouraged. Enriching your coffee with cloves and ginger will not take much time. You will prepare the spices while the coffee is brewing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of freshly brewed coffee (preferably strong, black),
  • a slice (approx. 1 cm) of fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced,
  • 2-3 whole cloves.

Preparation step by step:

Peel the fresh ginger and cut it into thin slices. Thanks to this, it will release more of its active compounds and aroma.

Put ginger slices and cloves into a cup or mug of hot coffee.

Leave the spices in the coffee for about 3-5 minutes so that the infusion can absorb their aroma and properties.. If you like a stronger flavor, you can stir gently to release more essential oils.

Before drinking, you can remove the ginger and cloves by pouring the coffee through a strainer. You don’t have to do this if you don’t mind additives in your coffee.
