According to the PF, Vorcaro was arrested on Monday (17), at Guarulhos airport, just before boarding the aircraft to flee the country and escape the operation. His defense denies the intention to escape and says that the purpose of the trip was to hold a meeting in Dubai with a fund that was interested in buying the bank.
In the last four months, the aircraft has made several trips to Brasília, where the banker has intensified since the Master crisis; to Miami, where Vorcaro’s girlfriend, the influencer, lives, Belo Horizonte, where his children are; and the Caribbean, French Riviera, Sardinia (in Italy) and the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera, in Spain), regions known for their paradisiacal beaches and trendy nightlife.
Vorcaro’s considered extravagant lifestyle has become a source of interest in recent years, marked by luxurious parties, exclusive trips and financing of events, of which influential figures in the country have become regulars.
The plane seized by the PF is a Falcon 7X model, manufactured in 2010 by Dassault. It is registered in the name of Viking Participações, Vorcaro’s company. The estimated value of the plane is around R$200 million, according to a calculation made by investigators.
Viking has two other planes in its name, a Gulfstream G700 and a Falcon 2000. A report by the newspaper O Globo showed that Viking was on board the first, bound for Dubai, at the time of the banker’s arrest. Upon arriving at the area known as the Bermuda Triangle, in the Atlantic Ocean, the plane turned around, changed its route and flew to Brazil.
