According to Mendonça, the current administration of President Osmar Stabile is less material than the previous administration. The manager denied having irregularly removed 131 items. He said that his name has appeared as an approver since May, with the removal of only authorized materials. “I removed 47 materials for my use, to travel and build institutional relationships”he stated.
The vice-president said that of the 84 items he claims not to have removed, 62 correspond to an administrative transfer between club units. He mentioned shirts destined for the FPF (São Paulo Football Federation), kits for the head of security and a suitcase for the former legal director.
Mendonça stated that he was not contacted by the audit during the process: “I didn’t receive an email, they didn’t ask me for clarification”. He also contested notes about unregistered withdrawals and extra shirts requested per game.
The director stated that he only asked for the separation of 19 special shirts with patches of the (National Football League), denying withdrawal. “They canceled the request. I didn’t ask to cancel it”he said. The director accused Munhoes of modifying the report delivered to the president on November 3 and stated that an employee mentioned in the 1st version denied having participated in the audit.
Mendonça also denied having made threats to the director, as stated in the indictment. He asked the president to hire an independent external audit. “If it turns out that I diverted a Corinthians staple, I will resign the next day”he stated.
