This Tuesday was a historic day on the Lisbon stock exchange: it was the last day of negotiations for Construction Real Estate Society Grão Pará, S.A.

Grão Pará was the company that had been trading on the stock exchange for the longest time in Portugal. Entered 1972, the year in which he inaugurated the Estoril Race Track – a structure he built.

The company was founded by Fernanda Pires da Silvaa businesswoman who was in Brazil and where she got her inspiration: Grão-Pará is a city in the state of Santa Catarina.

It was on the rise, the company became practically worth 25 million euros. But the 21st century, especially from 2010, was synonymous with a remains constant. The business went bankrupt and lawsuits against the State accumulated – the pending legal actions were essential to the fall.

For several years, Grão Pará does not have any exploration or commercial activitythus not generating any income. You managers even started to occupy the position without any salary.

It was not a sustainable situation, it could not be prolonged.

Two months ago, in September, Grão Pará declared insolvency. It left the stock exchange on November 18th, 53 years after it entered.
