Inspired by the African concept Ubuntu, which means “I am because we are”, the fair seeks to strengthen community ties, promote reflections on diversity and expand spaces for dialogue on racial equity. The choice of date, November 20th, also reinforces the importance of Black Awareness Day, a fundamental milestone in the memory and struggle of black people in Brazil.
During the event, the public will be able to enjoy cultural presentations, conversation circles, exhibitions of works produced by students and actions that highlight the richness of African and Afro-Brazilian traditions, as well as their influence on the construction of national identity.
The II Ubuntu Fair is consolidated as a space for valuing history, promoting rights and encouraging respect for differences, reaffirming the school’s commitment to inclusive, critical and transformative education.
The invitation is open to the entire community.
