One man was tortured by security guards at the Angeloni supermarket after stealing three packages of meat last Sunday afternoon (16), in Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina. He was beaten in a room of the establishment.

According to information from the Civil Police, the man who tried to steal the meat was arrested on Sunday (16) and had to be treated in two hospitals in Florianópolis, due to the need for additional tests. He presented himself at the police station at night.
In his interrogation, he stated that the security guards there and said that they broke his arm in the room. In a custody hearing that took place the following day, the man’s preventive detention was ordered, and upon being heard by the Judge and the representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, he confirmed that he had been attacked by security guards.
Given the facts, the Public Prosecutor requested the issuance of search and seizure warrants at the supermarket. The precautionary measure was carried out today by police officers from the capital’s 5th Police Station and images of the events were seized.
According to the police, the location where the victim was taken underwent forensic examination. This moves on to the period of image analysis, preparation of expert reports and hearings.
