The current attorney general of the Union, Jorge Messias, thanked this Thursday (20) for his appointment, by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to the position of minister of the Federal Supreme Court.
Messias stated that, once approved by the Federal Senate, he will repay Congress for its trust, with “dedication, integrity and institutional zeal” and demonstrate that he has the “requirements” for the position.
“With faith and humility entrusted to the Senators of the Republic, I will seek to demonstrate compliance with the constitutional requirements necessary for the exercise of this high State mission. I reaffirm my commitment to the Constitution of the Republic, to the Democratic Rule of Law and to the Brazilian Justice, in particular, to the relevant duties and responsibilities of the national Judiciary”, he stated.
