This Wednesday, PSOL parliamentarians filed a request with the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Federal Police (PF) requesting the provisional arrest of federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem, convicted by the Court in the coup plot. The document is signed by federal deputies Henrique Vieira, Tarcísio Motta, Chico Alencar, Talíria Petrone and Glauber Braga. The initiative took place after a report from the PlatôBR portal revealed that Ramagem is in Miami, in the United States.
Ramagem was convicted due to his role in the Bolsonaro government as director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), and had a sentence set at 16 years and one month in prison. GLOBO sought the deputy’s advice, but did not receive a response until the publication of the report.
Henrique Viera argues that “there is no public confirmation that Ramagem’s passports, retained by court order, have been returned”. According to him, the fact that Ramagem was seen in the United States “puts the execution of the sentence at risk”.

“The deputy’s stay abroad, added to the seriousness of the crimes for which he was convicted, including attempted coups and criminal organizations, demands an urgent response from the authorities to guarantee the application of criminal law and prevent further evasion”, states the deputy.
In addition to the penalty, the loss of the position of PF delegate was determined, a possibility provided for in the Penal Code. According to the PF investigation, there is evidence that Ramagem led a clandestine espionage scheme during the period in which he headed Abin, during the Bolsonaro government. He also kept files, recorded in his email, with instructions to Bolsonaro on attacks on electronic voting machines.
