Medical sources in the Gaza Strip accuse the Israeli army of having launched at least three attacks on Palestinian territory. The Israelis say they responded to attacks by Hamas Islamists, who they accuse of violating the fragile ceasefire in force since October 10.
But the balance of November 19 points to a majority of civilian deaths, even though Israel talks about attacks directed against targets of Islamist militants. The victims included several children, most in Gaza City, but also in Khan Younis. The attacks come as Palestinians in Gaza face another winter without the minimum conditions for survival, with UN protests regarding humanitarian aid being ignored by Tel Aviv.
