The roads in Slovakia are passable. This applies to all monitored highway sections, expressways, first-, second-, and third-class roads and mountain passes. Slovak Road Administration (SSC) warns of ice on roads I/10 Makov – Vyšní Labajovci and II/541 Semeteš – Turzovka. Ice also forms on the Makov mountain pass, and frozen snow must be expected on the Huty mountain pass. The SSC informed about it on the website zjazdnost.sk.
The surface of the roadways of highway sections, expressways and roads of the first, second and third class is dry to wet, sometimes wet, at higher altitudes it is occasionally covered with a layer of fresh to slushy snow up to two centimeters thick.
On mountain passes (HP), the road surface is equally dry to wet, sometimes wet. “On HP Besník, Čertovica, Súľová, Grajnár and Dobšiná there is fresh to slushy snow one to two centimeters thick on the road in places, on HP Huty icy snow in places up to one centimeter thick,” added SSC.
