This Wednesday (19/11), the counter was filed. The action was filed by Asta Jonasson, former assistant to the “Fast and Furious” star, in 2023. According to her, the case would have happened in 2000. The information is from the North American magazine Variety.

The ruling, handed down by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel M. Crowley, for lack of jurisdiction. According to local regulations, the laws of California, where the case was filed by the former employee, do not have extraterritorial application — in this case, in the state of Georgia, where the alleged crime would have occurred.

According to Jonasson’s lawyers, the decision must be challenged: “The Court did not decide anything about the veracity of Ms. Jonasson’s allegations. The decision was based on a legal technicality, with which we respectfully disagree. Ms. Jonasson intends to appeal.” Diesel’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, who had previously denied the accusations, celebrated the result: “We are grateful that the court has put an end to this baseless lawsuit. We are pleased that this matter has been fully resolved.”

The complaint

Asta Jonasson claims to have been in an Atlanta hotel room. At the time, he was recording a film in the franchise. According to the complaint, the actor forced her to lie down on the bed. She tried to escape, but was pushed by the celebrity, who tried to pull down her underwear and forced her to touch his erect penis.

The assistant was fired by the sister of Dominic Toretto’s interpreter just hours after the alleged crime. She had only worked for Diesel for nine days. The actor has always denied the allegations. “Let me be very clear: Vin Diesel categorically denies this allegation in its entirety […] There is clear evidence that completely refutes these outrageous allegations,” his lawyer said.
