A six-year-old girl has died after being treated at the Mireia Dental Clinic in (Valencia), while another minor, 4 years old, treated at the same clinic, is admitted to the Valencia Clinical Hospital. The Ministry of Health has suspended the activity of the private center and has opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of both events. The dentist who treated her has assured, in statements to À punt, that the girl left the clinic perfectly, where they put an IV to relax her and now the batch of the product used is being investigated.
At 4:52 p.m. this Thursday, a six-year-old girl, a resident of Alzira, was admitted to the Emergency Service in cardiorespiratory arrest, after having been treated previously that same morning in a private dental clinic, according to the report of the person in charge of the hospital’s Emergency Department.
The doctors tried to resuscitate him without success and declared “judicial death”, according to sources from the Ministry of Health. Previously, at 3:11 p.m., another girl, 4 years old, who had also been treated that morning at the same dental clinic, had gone to the same hospital with an episode of fever, vomiting and drowsiness.

After her stabilization and the pertinent evaluation, the doctors decided to transfer her from SAMU to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where she remains admitted.
This morning, hours after the event, a sign hung at the Alzira clinic headquarters that read: “Due to force majeure we will remain temporarily closed.” Its owner, Mireia V., settled in the current clinic a few years ago on a ground floor, in front of the Alzira II Health Center.
Mireia V., speaking to À punt, explained that the deceased girl went to the center the day before to extract some baby teeth and give her a filling. “It wasn’t an operation, we put an IV to relax the girl, and she left here perfectly. She started to feel bad afterwards and we don’t know what could have happened,” she declared, visibly affected.
The dentist assures that the girl was given sedation, not general anesthesia. “They are investigating the batch of the product, we don’t know what could have happened,” he added.
This Friday, the Inspection Service of the Ministry of Health has initiated an information file to clarify the circumstances of what happened and has ordered the precautionary suspension of the activity of the dental clinic where the two girls were treated.
