The migration of Eurobic accounts to Abanca enters the decisive phase in the coming days, in a process that involves the unavailability of the application, changes in digital access and the assignment of new IBANs to customers. According to the ECO news portal, the transition marks the final stage of the integration of the bank previously owned by Isabel dos Santos into the Galician institution, with direct impacts on the daily financial lives of around 240,000 users.
In communications sent to customers, the bank has highlighted that the Eurobic Net service, both in the app and on the homebankingwill be deactivated even before the migration officially starts. The interruption is scheduled for the period between Friday and Sunday, during which it will not be possible to check balances or carry out operations through the usual digital channels.
Temporary interruption and new access
From Monday, November 24th, access will be made exclusively through Abanca channels. According to the same source, login will require the use of the NIF to replace the current username, maintaining the password used in Eurobic. For customers who already have a relationship with Abanca, occasional disruptions may occur, although the bank guarantees the general continuity of services.
Another highlighted point concerns proof, which will not be automatically transferred between platforms. ECO writes that the bank recommends downloading all records of transactions carried out until November 20th, information that will no longer be accessible as soon as the Eurobic application is disconnected.
Pending operations and automatic transition
The process also includes guidance on operations pending authorization. The publication adds that these should be completed before the migration begins, as they will not be transported to the new system. Despite this, the bank ensures that essential data will be transferred automatically, including frequent beneficiaries, direct debits and digital documentation associated with accounts.
The update is not limited to access channels. From Monday onwards, each customer will also be assigned a new IBAN. The same source states that this change has already been communicated by letter, where the bank explains that, during the first year, all recurring transactions will continue to be processed even with the old IBAN.
New IBAN comes into force, but with an adaptation period
The bank indicates that, to avoid embarrassment, customers must update their IBAN in regular operations in advance. Although the initial transition is automatic, some care is necessary, especially in immediate transfers received. In these cases, the bank recommends communicating the new IBAN to issuers as soon as possible.
The explains that the update should also extend to financial aggregation applications used by some customers. Maintaining old information on these platforms may affect access to financial positions or the execution of transactions.
In the set of notices sent, the bank also reinforces that the new IBAN should only be used from Monday onwards, coinciding with the activation of new accesses and the definitive end of the Eurobic Net platform.
