The comedian spoke about the future of “”, the program he runs on TV Globo, this Thursday (11/20). On his social networks, the presenter denied the “Folha de S. Paulo” article about the attraction’s performance compared to competing broadcasters. He directed two seasons of the comedy, which premiered in July.
According to the note, the broadcaster would have brought forward the end of the 2nd season after consecutive defeats to “”. The last episode would air on the 25th, but was discarded due to a change in the Brazilian Championship table. However, according to the global, such information about performance below expectations is unfounded.

“I know you’re rooting against everyone. But this news, unfortunately, is false. The program isn’t over and there was no defeat for ‘A Fazenda’. There just won’t be an exhibition next week due to the rescheduling of the Palmeiras game”, explained Maurício Meirelles, who also criticized: “It’s a shame that so many TV journalists don’t do the basics”.
In another post, the comedian responded to journalist Ricardo Souza, who published similar content. In the message, full of jabs, he reiterated that the last episode of “Open to the Public” was only postponed because of the change in the Brazilian football round. “Ah, (about) the audience (if you checked), we were leaders throughout the season”, he poked.
The professional highlighted the investigation and presented numbers that confirm the defeat of the TV Globo program to the Record reality show. Furthermore, he recalled that Souza himself had already shared content of his own: “Apparently, I only do journalism when the numbers on your program were convenient. After all, you shared my content twice this season alone.”
The debate continued with replies, rejoinders and much more. While Ricardo reinforced the defeat of the comedy attraction, arguing that the broadcaster, on other occasions, relocated programs instead of discarding them, Meirelles insisted on the leadership of the “Open to the Public” season in audience ratings, in addition to justifying the relocation of the episode to other platforms of the group.
The show’s first season premiered in June. With four episodes, the attraction welcomed Deborah Secco, Denílson Show, Gracyanne Barbosa and Marcos Pasquim. The second season, with eight episodes, featured names like Nicolas Prattes, Isadora Cruz and Gil do Vigor.
