Price reductions or 2+2 promotions encourage buyers to buy more cubes. However, if you buy butter in stock, you need to know how it should be stored.

If stored incorrectly, the product becomes rancid, its natural taste changes and it may absorb odors or surroundings. Harmful bacteria can also grow on the surface of butter. Therefore, the most important thing is tightness. Butter is a fat sensitive to external factors. The product requires separation from light, oxygen and odors.

Butter must not be stored in an open container, on a saucer, on the refrigerator door or in an open container outdoors. Such butter will quickly lose its taste, become slippery and soon be unfit for consumption.

It is best to use a butter dish to hold the butter. The product has been designed to isolate fat from the surroundings. In addition, it is convenient to scoop butter from it, for example for a sandwich. Regardless of whether we choose a ceramic or glass container, the most important thing is that the butter dish is airtight.

It is best to store butter in the refrigerator – especially in its coldest part, in a place away from products with intense smells. The middle shelf will work especially well, as it has a stable, optimal temperature. The refrigerator slows down the spoilage of butter and helps maintain its freshness and flavor. You can take small portions outside, but they must be used within 1-2 days. However, if we have a larger supply of butter, it would be best to put it in the freezer.

If we have bought a large supply of butter, the best place to store it is the freezer. The butter should remain in its original foil and additionally place it in a closed container or wrap it in aluminum foil. The butter can also be placed in a special bag intended for freezing.

It is best to put the date of freezing the product on the packaging, because the butter can be stored this way for 6 to 9 months, and the taste will be best if we stick to the period of half a year. After thawing, use the butter within 3 weeks.
