Kanye West’s show in SP is canceled after city hall veto

Management Ricardo Nunes banned the event from taking place in Internalgos because of the North American musician’s support for Nazism; producer criticizes and says look for another city to host the show

The Kanye West (YE) show, initially scheduled for November 29 in São Paulo, was canceled after the city revoked the authorization for the use of the Interlagos Race Track. The management decision (MDB) ended negotiations with Holding Entretenimento & Networking, responsible for the event, which is now looking for another city to host the North American artist.

The municipal administration blocked the show because of the rapper’s speeches — who has defended Adolf Hitler, praised Nazism in interviews and has a history of anti-Semitic comments. Your music “Heil Hitler” has already been banned from digital platforms. The veto added to the recent ones by Nunes, who stated that he considered “inadmissible” holding the show in public facilities.

In a statement released on Thursday (November 20, 2025), the producer stated that the cancellation was inevitable after the city hall revoked “unilaterally” the contract for the use of Interlagos. According to the company, “It became clear in recent weeks that the environment and political will would not allow the show to be held in this municipality”.

Holding Entretenimento & Networking said it respected the authorities, but criticized the São Paulo government’s decision. “We greatly respect the powers that be, but we do not agree with this attitude, since a show of this magnitude provides access to culture, entertainment and boosts the city’s economy”he declared.

The producer stated that it had already paid Kanye’s fee, race track fees and other expenses. The company opened a question box on Instagram for fans to indicate which city they would like to see the performance in.

According to the note, anyone who wants to wait for the new date can use the same ticket, without the need for additional confirmation. The Holding also guaranteed that it will reimburse those who prefer to give up. Instructions would be sent via email and WhatsApp “within 24 hours”according to the company.

Guilherme Cavalcante, one of the event’s partners, revealed to the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo that the fee paid to the rapper was US$5 million, approximately R$27 million.
