Yolanda Díaz criticizes that the TS’s condemnation of the attorney general is “political” and is directed “against the Government”
The second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, has criticized that the Supreme Court’s (TS) conviction of the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, is “political”, constitutes an “anomaly” and is fundamentally directed “against the progressive Government.”
“This ruling, when we know it, will be studied in all law schools in Spain,” he launched during a press conference in Slovenia, where he is on an official trip, together with the Minister of Labor of this country, Luka Mesec.
Díaz has defended García Ortiz, whom he has defined as “a brilliant jurist,” and has criticized that the Supreme Court has condemned him “without evidence.” Furthermore, he has warned that the TS ruling “breaks the institutionality of the State” and, furthermore, what it does is “fracture” the Spanish “judiciary”, in reference to the two dissenting votes with the resolution within the court.
In addition, the Minister of Labor has highlighted that “coincidentally” the two-year disqualification sentence for the prosecutor for a crime of revealing secrets against the businessman Alberto González Amador, partner of the president of the Community of Madrid Isabel Díaz Ayuso, was made public on November 20, the anniversary of the death of the dictator Francisco Franco.
