Portuguese candidate for Miss Universe paraded with carnations in tribute to the 25th of April Revolution

Camila Vitorino, Portuguese representative in the Miss Universe 2025 contest, stood out in the traditional costume test by presenting a tribute to the Revolution of April 25th and to the figure of Celeste Caeiro, a woman who became a symbol of freedom in Portugal. The candidate wore a dress that resembled a military uniform, adorned with carnations, conveying the message of “turning conflict into hope”, as indicated by the official page of Miss Universe Portugal.

The costume, created by designer António da Silva, aims to celebrate the courage and determination of those who contributed to the construction of a new chapter in the country’s history. When parading, Camila Vitorino evoked the importance of freedom and peaceful resistance, standing out among the participants for incorporating historical and symbolic elements into her costume.
