A Civil Police recovered 37 of the 70 luxury watches from the Rolex, Cartier and Tag Heuer brands that were stolen at Monte Cristo Watchmaking, at Shopping Iguatemi Campinason Thursday afternoon (20). Six people were arrested and a teenager was caught red-handed after the robbery.
According to the SSP (Public Security Secretariat), criminals broke into the storethey captured an employee and took the watches. While fleeing the scene, the criminal group also stole a car and exchanged gunfire with security agents.

The Municipal Civil Guard was called and, with support from the mall’s security team, the PM agents clashed with the thieves. One of those involved in the robbery was arrested just outside the mall. after being injured in a confrontation with security agents.
Three others were captured in the city of Pedreira (SP), together with the vehicle used in the getaway. One of them was with injuries resulting from the exchange of gunfire and had the weapon seized.
Three more members of the group were found hiding in a club in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo. They were detained at the scene.
All recovered items were sent to forensics, in addition to the police officers’ weapons and the pistol seized from one of the criminals. Two cars were also seized, a Fiat Cronos and a Honda Civic. .
The participants in the crime were charged with aggravated robbery and criminal associationand remain at the disposal of the Court.
The Civil Police also reported that they requested images from the store and shopping center’s security cameras. The objective is to clarify the circumstances of the crime and identify the possible involvement of other people.
What the store says
On social media, Relojoaria Monte Cristo stated that “the losses were exclusively material” and that the establishment’s teams and customers were fine.
The official statement also stated that the store would be closed this Friday (21) “as a precaution”.
