The number of victims of the Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Ternopil overnight on Wednesday has increased to at least 31, rescue services announced on Friday, as they pulled more dead bodies from the rubble.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing and scores of people are still missing – more than 48 hours after a Russian cruise missile struck an apartment building in the city, tearing off the upper floors and trapping dozens of people under the rubble.
Deadly attack on Ternopil
It was one of the deadliest attacks this year and one of the worst in western Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, writes AFP.
Ukrainian police announced on Friday that rescuers “pulled out the bodies of three more people: a woman and two children” from the rubble of the destroyed building.
Number of victims and missing persons
Six children are among the 31 confirmed victims so far. Another 94 people, including 18 children, were injured.
“The search for missing people continues,” the police added.
Rescue services said on Thursday that more than 12 people were still missing, the French agency quoted.
