How to make pulled pork?
- First, you need to marinate the meat. The day before, put salt, bay leaf, allspice, pepper, peeled garlic in a pot and pour water over everything. There should be enough water to cover the meat. Cover the pot with water and spices and bring to a boil. Turn off the stove and set the brine aside to cool. Then immerse the meat in the marinade and set aside in a cool place overnight.
- The next day, remove the meat and sprinkle with pepper. Add the remaining spices along with the mustard. Remove the garlic from the brine, press it through a press and add it to the meat. Coat the meat thoroughly with spices.
- Cut the onions into slices or cubes and place them on the bottom of an ovenproof dish greased with oil. Place the meat on the onion and put it in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius. Bake the meat for 30 minutes, then reduce the oven power to 150 degrees Celsius and cover the heat-resistant dish with a lid or foil. Bake the meat for 4-5 hours. After this time, you can leave the meat in the preheated oven for an hour.
- When the meat has cooled down a bit, reserve any strings with a fork. The pulled pork should combine with the sauce and juices accumulated at the bottom of the dish.
Pulled pork is best served immediately after baking, while it’s still warm.
You can serve pulled pork in a burger bun, on a sandwich of fresh bread, in tacos or wrapped in a wrap. It tastes great topped with ketchup, mayonnaise, and, above all, barbecue sauce. Coleslaw goes great with the burger. You can serve each of these elements separately on a plate.
