Before being arrested, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) asked minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), for authorization to receive visits from at least 16 allies. On the list is the mayor of Cuiabá and former federal deputy Abílio Brunini (PL-MT).

With Moraes’ arrest and refusal, Brunini told the column that he will continue asking to visit the former president. “There is no problem at all; our intention to visit is the same. The visiting time changes, some rules, but we will visit you wherever you are,” he stated.

An ally of Bolsonaro, Brunini already had a trip scheduled to Brasília next Tuesday for other agendas. With the arrest, the head of the Cuiaba Executive confirmed that the trip will continue and that he will continue trying to obtain authorization.

Bolsonaro has a custody hearing scheduled for Sunday at 12pm. He remains at the Federal Police superintendence in a larger staff room, with a bed, television, air conditioning and minibar.
