The price of cod has risen practically every week since the beginning of the year. As Christmas approaches, it’s best to buy as soon as possible.
Since the beginning of the year, cod has been rising in price. In the countdown to Christmas, this increase is more pronounced.
“It has risen significantly”, says trader Dinis Lucas, who exemplifies: “a fish that, in 2024, cost 18 euros, currently costs 22 euros.”
Despite this, demand is also beginning to rise for cod, a fish that is part of the Portuguese table.
There are a thousand and one ways to cook cod, but they all require quality in the product. Therefore, despite the prices, this Christmas is expected to be like so many others and there will be no shortage of cod on the table.
