“Everything was orchestrated to arrest Jair on the 22nd”, says brother

Renato Bolsonaro stated this Saturday morning (22.nov.2025) that the preventive arrest of the former president (PL), his brother, which occurred hours earlier, is “a meaningless determination, without any basis and reason”.

In a statement, Renato made reference to the ballot box number of the PL, a party to which he is also affiliated and for which he intends to compete for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies in 2026. “Everything orchestrated to arrest Jair on the 22nd”these.

The former president is at the Federal Police Superintendence, in a special room. Bolsonaro has been under house arrest in Brasília since August 4th.

Bolsonaro tried to break the electronic ankle bracelet in the early hours of this Saturday (Nov 22), states the preventive detention order against the former president given by STF (Supreme Federal Court) minister Alexandre de Moraes.

According to the decision, the act indicates an escape attempt. Bolsonaro was detained at his home in Brasília around 6 hours later. The former president was sent to the PF Superintendence (Federal Police).

On Friday (Nov 21), the senator (PL-RJ), the former president’s firstborn, spoke for his father’s health. In a post on his profile on X, Flávio said he would “overcoming injustices, struggles and all persecutions” through prayer.

The call for the vigil was cited by Moraes when decreeing Bolsonaro’s preventive arrest, under the justification of maintaining the “public order”. Ice cream a (PDF – 295 KB).

“I woke up to this absurd news of my brother’s arrest this morning. A senseless determination, without any basis or reason. All orchestrated to arrest Jair on the 22nd.

What is the reason for arresting Jair? They are claiming that it was because Flávio called a vigil in favor of Jair. So does that mean we can’t even get together to cry for justice or pray for our president? Do they even want to take away our right to demonstrate?
Bolsonaro was already convicted for no reason and is now arrested for no reason, with the case still in progress. Just yesterday the defense asked my brother to remain at his residence due to health issues.

Alexandre de Moraes is throwing Justice in the trash and exercising a dictatorship in Brazil, taking away the Freedom of those who have not committed any crime.

Brazil cannot accept this gradual rupture of our freedom. It is even more urgent that the Chamber votes for total and unrestricted amnesty and that the Senate puts a stop to these absurdities committed by the STF.

They want to silence my brother, but they will not silence millions of Brazilians who defend God, Country, Family and Freedom.”
