We often don’t have much time to prepare dinner, but in order not to rush into unhealthy alternatives, it is worth preparing some paste in advance, which we can store in a jar for up to several weeks. It is tasty and easy to make. You only need three ingredients to prepare it.
Parsley is usually added for soups, sauces, marinades, or to decorate salads and sandwiches. However, few people know that we can prepare a delicious paste from it, which can later become the basis for dinner. Preparing parsley for jars is not complicated.
However, before we use it, we must soak the parsley for a few minutes in very cold water with lemon juice. This way we will restore its intense green color. In addition, the leaves will become much firmer and fresher.
After a few minutes, remove the parsley from the water and dry it thoroughly. Then chop it finely and put it in a bowl, add olive oil or alternatively rapeseed oil.. Add enough fat to combine well, but not to be too liquid. The next step is to add 1 teaspoon of roasted sunflower seeds. This will give the paste a thick and creamy consistency.
Mix everything thoroughly and pour the finished mixture into previously sterilized jars. If we want the paste to remain tasty for a longer time, we can add a little olive oil on top, which will help prevent oxidation. Parsley paste can be used to prepare a quick dinner. Just combine it with pasta and a bit of cheese. It is also a good addition to soups, sauces and baked vegetables.
