Recently appointed to the (Supreme Federal Court), the minister of the AGU (Advocacy-General of the Union), participated this Friday (21) in an evangelical event in São Paulo alongside parliamentarians, religious leaders and Supreme Minister André Mendonça.

Therefore, I also congratulate the President of the Republic for his nomination. Messias will have my full support in the republican dialogue with the Senators”, Mendonça wrote on his profile on X (formerly Twitter).
He was nominated by Bolsonaro for the vacancy in the STF in 2021, as “terribly evangelical”, and spent four months waiting for the hearing, amid a tug of war between the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) and the Palácio do Planalto.
Alcolumbre is also today the main resistance in the House to the name of Messiah. He advocated that Lula choose Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG) for the post and has already indicated that he should work against the AGU in the House.
In the Senate, Messias has already sought out Senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), president of the evangelical bench, to ask for support for his nomination. On Thursday, he also received the support of the leader of the Republicans in the Senate, Mecias de Jesus (RR), who highlighted the chosen one’s positive values, such as the “defense of the family and Christian principles”.
The president of e (SP) also said that Messias meets the requirements required by the Constitution. “And I’m sure he will be a great minister, dignifying the court,” he stated.
