Moraes cancels visits that were already authorized to Bolsonaro; understand

The minister Alexandre de Moraesfrom the STF (Supreme Federal Court), canceled visits that were already authorized to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The decision took place alongside the provisional arrest of the former agent this Saturday (22).

Bolsonaro had visits authorized by Moraes until December 11th — including that of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), on the 10th.

The former president will receive 16 more visits in the coming days. The list goes from the leader of the PL in the Chamber of Deputies, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ), to the former candidate for president of the Republic Padre Kelmon.

Now, only visits from lawyers and medical staff of the former president are authorized. New requests must be submitted to the STF.

Since Bolsonaro’s house arrest was ordered in August this year, the STF has periodically authorized visits to the former president. Among them were parliamentarians, religious figures, supporters and influencers.

Requests from people under investigation and other defendants have already been denied, as was the case with the president of the PL (Liberal Party), (Federal Police) for attempted coup d’état.

Preventive detention
