Right-wing councilors in São Paulo made jokes about the fire in the official WhatsApp group for members of the City Council this Thursday (20), a few hours after the accident in .
One of the first to speak out, at 5:29 pm, was: “Catch fire cabaret!!! hahaha”, accompanied by a fire emoji. In response, Rute Costa (PL) posted “kkkkkkk”.
Adrilles then posted a video of the song and wrote, parodying the lyrics: “Councillors of São Paulo samba to the sound of Gal: my heart woke up in the morning on fire fire fire! It was a brunette who passed me and left me like this!! hahaha”.
When addressing Ruth, Adrilles made a reference to . “Rutinha, and they still want to say that the German wasn’t right!! Poor thing, the German was going to turn into a tropical skewer.”
Rute then commented on a post that had been shared by Sonaira Fernandes (PL) about minister Marina Silva having been taken to an isolated room at the COP. “Poor little turtle”, wrote Rute, in reference to the holder of the .
She added: “Of course [Merz] was right. Total fiasco”. To which Adrilles concluded, in reference to a speech by the Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, after the incident: “The minister’s statement was better: ‘it’s not because of a little fire that you need to cancel the Flop!’

When contacted, the president of the Chamber did not comment on the messages in the official group of councilors. He only stated that “in relation to the fire, the São Paulo City Council regrets the incident that occurred at the COP”.
Adrilles stated that the references he made were to the lack of structure offered by the government to the conference and the publicity given to an event that was “an absolute fiasco”.
“The joke I made, in a fire that had no victims, was not about the potential risk that people eventually took. It was about how pathetic it is for a minister to say that a fire occurs anywhere and everywhere, including at an environmental event,” he stated.
When contacted, councilor Rute Costa’s advisors did not respond until the publication of this text.
