“Our goal has always been to intensify the seasons according to the ages of the characters and the audience,” said Ross in an interview with The Times. “But [Stranger Things] continues to win new viewers. I hope the parents don’t get too mad at us.”

Regarding the various theories raised by fans of the series on social media, the filmmaker brothers revealed that they don’t care much about what viewers want to happen in the final episodes. “Every character’s endings have to feel right,” Matt said. “That was more important than giving fans the closure they were hoping for. But as much as possible, I don’t go online much. I’m not even sure what people want to happen.”

According to the filmmakers, filming the final episodes of Stranger Things was emotional, with “everyone in tears”. “It seemed like every day we were shooting an actor’s final scene and saying goodbye,” Matt recalled.

With four episodes, Volume 1 of the fifth season of Stranger Things arrives on November 26th, at 10pm (Brasília Time). Volume 2, with three chapters, will air on December 25th and the final episode will be available on December 31st, always at 10pm.
