“Her reactions have no basis in EU and international law” points out the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lana Zohiou, in response to a journalist’s question regarding today’s statement by the Spokesperson of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
“The update of the Maritime Spatial Planning map of Greece on the European Commission’s platform was done in accordance with Directive 2014/89, the international law of the sea and the bilateral agreements concluded by our country” emphasizes Ms. Zohiou and notes that “where there has been no bilateral delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone, the outermost potential limits are recorded according to the median line”.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concludes by emphasizing the following:
“Greece’s positions on the issue have been repeatedly expressed both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union and the United Nations Organization.
