British PM asks André de England to share information about Epstein case

As perguntas sem resposta que pairam sobre o escândalo do príncipe André

Without making direct reference to King Charles III’s brother, Starmer argued that, as a “general principle”, anyone who has “relevant information” about the case must “be willing to reveal it”.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer asked André Mountbatten-Windsor to share any information he has about the Epstein case, after Prince Andrew until recently refused to testify as part of this investigation.

Without making direct reference to King Charles III’s brother, Starmer argued that, as a “general principle”, anyone who has “relevant information” about the case must “be willing to reveal it”.

“I will not comment on the case in particular. But the general principle that I have defended for a long time is that anyone who has relevant information related to these types of cases should provide this evidence to anyone who needs it. That would be my general position in this regard”, said the British Prime Minister, in statements to the media made in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he is participating in the G20 summit.

Although André Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied involvement in any crime, King Charles III officially stripped his brother of the title of prince at the beginning of this month, amid constant accusations and suspicions about his links with former financier Jeffrey Epstein, arrested and awaiting trial for sexual crimes and child abuse when he was found hanging in a cell.

The British royal family not only began the formal process to remove André’s titles, but also expelled him from the mansion where he lived in Windsor, west of London, in an action that he defended as “necessary”, despite the former prince continuing to deny the accusations against him.

André himself announced in October that he was renouncing his titles, including Duke of York, as he considered that “the continuous accusations” against him “distracted” the work of the king and the royal family, but even earlier, in 2019, he had announced that he was abandoning public activities due to the scandal.

Jeffrey Epstein, who came to live with personalities such as Prince Andrew of England — son of Elizabeth II —, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, was convicted in 2008 of prostitution of a minor in Florida after a controversial agreement with the federal government, and arrested again in July 2019. He was awaiting a new trial on federal charges of sex trafficking with a possible sentence of up to 45 years in prison, when he was found hanging in a New York prison cell.
