There were loud demonstrations in Vienna on Saturday against the construction of the “Wien Holding Arena”. The event hall is to be built on a 44,000 square meter open space in the St. Marx district in Vienna’s third district and will offer space for around 20,000 visitors. Local initiatives, users of the site and residents of the district once again called for protests against the construction of the hall on Saturday. A few hundred people followed the call and marched from Vienna-Mitte to Votivpark as part of a demonstration, with a stopover in front of the SPÖ headquarters on Löwelstrasse.
